AvantGarden inhabits a history-embedded turn-of-the-century Kraft house. Here, families once celebrated the stages of their lives, loved laughed and finished out their days; the public now calls it Home. Though a well kept secret (Avantgarden doesn't advertise) the New York Times named AvantGarden as one of the top must visit spots in Houston.
The place is historic, lots of charm and character. Something you would expect out of a rom-com where you meet "the one" as you wait in line to buy a drink. Something like that. It just has a lot of character - unlike something in a strip mall. There is a big patio/deck/courtyard out back. Inside you come across the bar and somewhat limited seating on the first level and just a few barstools. Head upstairs and there is a larger meeting space / theatre / multipurpose room that seats about twenty people comfortably, or nearly fifty people mostly uncomfortable for everyone. |
