Boondocks is great... unlike any other bar in Houston and most true to its nature. If you are looking for a more laid back experience, check it out on the weekdays... The jukebox is great and the drinks are cheap. This isn't a Midtown bar, so if you are expecting fancy service, you aren't going to get it. Beer is really cheap, and their mixed drinks are no more expensive than other venues around Montrose.
This is one of the few places in Houston that plays and supports Indie Music!! If your into the Rock/Indie Scene you know that a lot of guys that are in a band come here on regular basis. Even the people that frequent this place have some what of a 60's/retro - non-mainstream look. You don't see the more Douchey Ed-hardy/Affliction crap you would see on other places. |
